Alginate hydrogel =1 mL
We usually do it for 36 hours. For 1 mL of alginate hydrogel, 24-36h is sufficient.
Along with the volume of hydrogel, you should also consider the concentration of alginate.
I think a continuous freeze-drying process of 24 hours would be sufficient to lyophilization 1 ml of alginate hydrogel.
