I am interested to purchase an internal dosimetry software for nuclear medicine, but OLINDA/EXM is not available at the moment. Please advise me the similar software which I can use for calculation Internal Dosimetry in Nuclear Medicine?
You are right, it is not free but I did not understand that the question was for only free s/w.
However, it is actually for human use. It has been extensively used with SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT and PET/MR human data, studying various different therapeutic agents. Several publications exist from Philips and non-Philips institutions that are using the tool.
It is NOT validated for routine clinical use, like the majority of other dosimetric applications.
The whole point of the Imalytics platform is to bring to the clinical research community tools that although have not yet passed FDA approval for clinical use are, however, mature enough to be used for clinical research. It is a way of enabling people to use tools that we also use internally for clinical research projects. They do have a price tag; even if you provide s/w just for research you still need to support and improve it and any support needs to be financed somehow.
Dear Nur, and colleagues, some advances with the Hermes product line have been made regarding clinical use. Both Olinda 2.0 and Hermes Hybrid Viewer Dosimetry which integrates Olinda 2.0 have got CE and FDA in 2017 and are registered as clinical products, CFDA is pending (all MIRD based). This year a next package will be shown and will be applying for FDA and have CE, it is Monte Carlo scatter based spectct reconstruction and than voxel based calculations again on a Monte Carlo Based Penelope code. This will bring Dosimetry into the voxel environment. In case of any questions please contact me.
Dear Peter, thank you for your information. As you might be aware that we are in the process of purchasing OLINDA EXM at the moment. I will keep in touch since Internal Dosimetry is a raising issue in Indonesia at the moment. Best regards, Nur.
Dear Dr Peter van Loon i concern about the internal dosimetry, and there're many softwares coding about that. But is there any free program to calculate absorbed dose from DCOM viewer. For example, now, i dont know is there any software for calculating dose after Y90 therapy (SIRT) from PET/CT image after radioembolization.
Dear Mr Chien, since i am now working for another company than before(GE Healthcare )and we also offer a MIRD Dosimetry package with the GE Xeleris platform i do like you to have a look at that one, pointing at OEMs would be wrong in my position. The reference for GE is https://www.gehealthcare.co.uk/en-GB/products/molecular-imaging/nuclear-medicine/xeleris-4-dr
Hello again Peter, nice to see you again. For Chien N.N the drug manufacturer has some utilities on their webpage. Largely the software for such calculations is subject to liability and is therefore mostly available as a commercial package. Hermes offers a product that does exactly as you ask, but it is not free.
thank you Andrew for adding this, i do confirm this is current status. For free is really for free, so no free help, quality, FDA, CE and high level input in a regularized way. All at your own risk.
There are several commercial packages: MIM SurePlan MRT and LiverY90, Philips STRATOS, GE Dosimetry Toolkit and some open sources. The commercial ones are very expensive, north of $36kUSD per license in some cases.
