I think it is a good idea to split the cells when they are 70-80% confluent. From your picture, it seems to me that the confluency is around 50-60% though the shape is not appropriate.

Hind Alotaibi , I checked the HEK293 cell line on the web and found that the shape of the HEK293 cell is different from your provided picture. From your picture, I can see exactly round-shaped cells...Please find the attached picture which is different from your picture. That is why I said that shape is not appropriate.
