For TOC measurements, I have prepared oil-octane solution(677 mg/l) but when I measured the concentration of the prepared solution in TOC the concentration is much lower?can anyone help me by this
What instrument are you using? Is the oil-octane solution prepared in water? What did you calibrate the instrument with (potassium hydrogen phthalate)? If prepared in water you may have residual oil left on the sample bottle - try using a compound that is soluble in water.
I've added a link that outlines the procedure - hopefully you will find it useful in troubleshooting your issue.
Sebastian Hippmann many thanks for your response it is highly appreciated. I prepared the samples in bottles of glass... time of preparation is important I will take it onto my consideration. many thanks again
Peter Philbrook :Many thanks for your answer , yes it was prepared in water and the sample was shaken for 30 hr before implementing the adsorption test. I will read the Attached documents ... many thanks again
