Ramesh Bhoraniya,

(1) I think, to avoid this issue, you may write the flow governing equations in general form. You don’t need to write exactly as in Fluent. Because, even sometimes there are terms you don’t consider in simulation.

(2) First, you should extract the results in Cartesian coordinate. Then, you could have the results in the coordinate system that you wanted by applying the corresponding coordinate transformation equations. Then you can check if it is correct for cylindrical coordinate. If yes, you can be confident for Spherical coordinate.

(3) Please also wait for experience and suggestions from other researchers.

I converted velocity field for 2D axisymmetric case. Fluent have capability to model the axisymmetric flow case. Actually i am interested to generate velocity field for the axisymmetric flow over circular cone. The transformation gives streamwise velocity component ( Ur) in spherical co ordinate almost ok, but normal velocity component (Utheta) is some what unrealistic value. Towards the freestream the value increses linearly with the distance. However in case of boundary layer flow normal velocity component exponentially reduces to zero at freestream.

If any other options are there to generate velocity profile for incompressible flow over a circular cone ?

I'm sorry if I'm not answering your question but I would like to ask you something. What do you mean for "fluent supports cylindrical coordinates"? is it possible to solve the navier stokes equations in cylindrical coordinates just using different set up (so using fluent in cylindrical coordinates) ? or I have to write an udf?

Fluent supports axisymmetric(Z-R) system for 2-D modelling. No need to write separate udf.
