I am simulating flow of water on a inclined flat-plate at 8-10 degree with the x-axis. The rectangular domain is generated and discretized.
The inlet and outlet boundaries are normal to the x-axis. Which condition should apply at the free-stream (top) to simulate the flow.
I have tried with zero shear and symmetric condition at top boundary but this boundary is inclined to x-axis so not giving right solution.
Please suggest appropriate boundary condition for fluent simulation.

The boundary condition for the top plane completely depends on your physical problem. If it is a confined problem, then the top will be wall and if it is an unconfined problem, then the top will be pressure outlet.
Symmetry condition is not allowed perpendicular to the gravity line (it gravity is along Y direction).
If it is a 2D problem, then symmetry is completely absent, but if it a 3D problem, then you can give symmetry along z-direction at a plane exactly at the mid of the width of the plate.
