The Impact Factor for a journal is generally calculated based on fixed time period. It is generally 3 year period. It is mean of number of number of times the papers published in that journal are referred.
For example If the year of publication is 2014 then the ratio of the number of times articles published in 2012 are referred in standard journals in 2014 and the number of published papers during 2012 is called impact factor.
Can you recommend me some sites where I can get 5 or more high impact factors Journal research papers (reference papers) on microbiota and its health promoting effects.

There are many questions surrounding the IMPACT FACTOR of Journals. Two articles can shed some some light https://www.proof-reading-service.com/en/blog/good-impact-factor-journal/ and https://www.proof-reading-service.com/en/blog/impact-factors-journals/
Though there are different Impact Factors, JCR (Journal Citation Report) is the trusted and most widely used index to identify a Journal's IF. **Beware of predatory journals which uses their own IF**. The best way to know whether a Journal is indexed in Web of Science kindly check the Journal on the below link. However indexing doesn't mean that the Journal has IF. It just gives an authenticity to the Journal.

Despite several online sources do exist to show the present IF as given by researchers in this thread ( For instance, https://sites.google.com/a/koyauniversity.org/dqa/incite-jcr-thomson-reuters), it is always suggested to crosscheck with the particular Journal homepage to know the latest IF (JCR).
Thomson reauters is the most authenticated source and for Indian journals related to Agriculture and allied sciences NAAS( National Academy of Agricultural Sciences) rating
Normally it is mention on the front page of each journal. A list of top world class journals and conference is here: http://www.guide2research.com/topconf/
Thomson Reuters is the most authentic and reliable. for others, you will need to do a thorough background check to ascertain its authenticity and possibly relating it to the indexing of the particular Journal.
Why is it so difficult to find the impact factors of journal. Can't we get a straight forward answer possibly the urls of a site that somebody will input a journal name and get the impact factor in return?
1. Type in the journal's name on google and visit their website landing page. The Impact factor and CiteScore are usually mentioned in the lading page.
2. You can try visiting https://www.scimagojr.com/ which tries to give a holistic idea about a journal.
3. You can try visiting https://academic-accelerator.com/ which will show you the impact factor and other factors of a journal when you type in the journal's name.
If you find the answer useful, press the Recommend button so that others can be benefited. Thanks.
The only real impact factor is the one reported by Thomson Reuters. You have to purchase their JCR (Journal Citation Reports) to realize that, which is very expensive. Many journals have begun to create their own effects and place their own immoral websites on them. While the impact is a format that can be used by anyone, Thomson Reuters uses the site research, SCI, etc to publish the right impact factor.
