How to successfully revive cells stored at -80 degree C for a year?

I am working on C6 cells along with other neuronal cell lines. We have preserved the cells in 90%FBS and 10% DMSO solution. We are reviving the cells after a year and cells are either not binding or not gaining their morphology. Can anyone suggest me what are the steps to follow or any supplement that could be added to improve the health of cells?

Hello Tania

Have you followed the standard freezing protocol when the freezing of cells were done a year ago?

Try removing the traces of DMSO with culture medium as it could be one of the reasons. Give two washes with medium. Check the viability of cells using trypan blue.
