Hello Everyone,

I am trying to setup Volume of Fluid simulation in Fluent to study the droplet interaction with the wall under the influence of gravity.

The domain is a rectangular 2 D body representing the duct with air inlet from the left side and  a separate zone of droplet.

Now, what I have learn about VOF is that it calculates interface and I should not assign any interface between droplet zone and air zone. But the only options I get in fluent is either to model as interface or model as wall.

Also, in order to study whether a droplet will bounce, stick or splash while hitting the bottom wall, what boundary condition should I use.

I tried running for a fine mesh and with a very small del_t but the solver still crashed.

The boundary conditions I used were

Inlet: Velocity inlet. ( Left face)

Outlet: Pressure Outlet

Top and Bottom Wall as wall.
