I need to preserve DAN RNA samples for shipping via travel, for a period of 6 to 12 hours. How to storage and transport them in RT or other packaging methods ? and what is the protocl of freeze drying if that is possible ?
I would send them precipitated in ethanol + 0.3 M Na-acetate. The receiver would then need to centrifuge them, wash the precipitate in 70 % ethanol, dry briefly and dissolve in whatever bufer is suitable for his purposes (e.g. Tris-HCl 10 mM, EDIT 1 mM pH 8)

I concur. DNA and especially RNA is stable if shipped in ethanol plus salt which as mentioned you then precipitate and wash with 70% ethanol
In the past I received 1000s of RNA samples in ethanol from outside the UK and therefore in transit for a number of days and none of them ever arrived degraded
