I want to maintain pH in base but also it should be in the nature of acid. My solution to test in ICP-AES for heavy metals is EDTA washed soil solution which is base nature. To keep in ICP, it must be acid in nature. What can i do? Any suggestion?
It is impossible to have acidic and basic conditions together as they are by definition each others opposite.
Once you have taken samples from the soil for ICP you must acidify them before analysis to keep the metals in solution.
You cannot both add acid to keep the metals in solution as required for the analysis and maintain the pH of 8. I cannot see any reason to keep the pH of the sample while you analyse.

I cannot see a problem in changing the pH after the soil water is separated from the solids.
