Hello, researchers, at this moment I am doing some research work about construction productivity related with climate factors and I want to use Factor analysis on this even though it is a little bit complicated. The main problem I am dealing now is that which factor model is needed to apply for this research and how to measure this because climate factors are the little bit complicated to determine.
I want to find out the construction productivity of concreting operation with the case study and add some climate factors on these cases in case of determining how those climate factors are influencing on those productivity of concreting operation with negative or positive effects. In order to find out the most effective climate factors to the concreting productivity of cases, I am operating and applying the Factor analysis in this study but I have some problem with choosing the correct and reliable factor methods which are Confirmatory factor analysis and Exploratory factor analysis. Which one is needed to apply for this analysis ? Could you give me some recommendations and feedbacks on this issue?
If you don't already have a model in mind, then you should start with exploratory factor analysis. If this produces a sensible factor structure, it then validated with confirmatory factor analysis, which uses structural equation modeling.
