Dear RG community and researchers,
We are trying to grow biofilms in lab scale two-stage anaerobic (5 L) and aerobic (3 L) MBBR reactor (using media of 900 m2/m3 specific surface area) using an synthetic wastewater as mentioned in Experimental Methods in Wastewater Treatment (https://experimentalmethods.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Experimental-Methods-in-Wastewater-Treatment.pdf) in a batch process. The reactor has been operated almost a month however, the biofilm growth is not satisfactory. Kind suggestions from the RG community with prior experience in lab MBBR reactors would be helpful.
