My colleague and I started research project about bioplastic made out of starch-curcumin composite. However, we are currently having trouble regarding the produced film. We have degassed the precursor before subsequent drying, yet there are still apparent bubbles in the finished product.

We proposed that this occurs due to the insufficient degassing time, leaving trace number of gases in the precursor, which then trapped during the drying process in the oven.

I attached one sample showing the bubbly texture of the produced biofilm.

Thank you for your answer and suggestions!
