EFA is carried out from a pilot study data of research? Can i do EFA after actual data collection for a study? Want to know adequate sample size for 39 items during EFA.

Dear Anil, that's a pretty small sample size for EFA. Even single scale reliability analysis would be a struggle, but it all depends upon the quality of the internal factor structure. Please refer to my study guides.
