Hello everyone, does any one know any method to detect the existence of ethyl acetate and acetaldehyde in an ethanol medium? I have currently taken UV-VIS is there any method to detect the existence of these two things in ethanol?

An easy method is to use a GC. If you an MS detector attached it is better or you can use the FID and use standard solutions for identification and quantification. You may also use an HPLC with the MS detector or you can use a refractive index detector (RID) with standards.
