I have a closed system of 5L of seawater, S = 22.2 psu. I add O2 at a rate of 0.1 L/min. The start alkalinity and pCO2 is known. How do I caculate how long it takes (min) to remove all CO2 from the system?
My answer is mainly consider the time you need to detect pH changing if you are using a pH meter.
In my experience working with pH probes, the time required for reading or stabilizing of pH could be quite different. But a practical approach is, when reading values reaches a low variation, you can accept that as the pH of your system.
