I´ve done an extraction of Coca Cola to get a higher caffeine concentration. Here is the protocol I've used:

1. 20 ml Coca Cola + 2 ml theobromine (2 mg/ml)

2. extraction with ethylacetate, drying with sodium sulfate + filtration after

3. get rid of ethylacetate with rotary evaporator

4. residue resuspended in 2 ml methanol

Now my question is how to calculate the concentration of theobromine in my extract? My problem is that after the evaporation there was no liquid (as I expected). So my extract was present as a solid residue. After this I resuspended in methanol. How can I calculate theobromine? I know that I have 0,18 mg/ml of theobromine in my Coca Cola but I don't know how to calculate the dilution with methanol.

Thanks for your help!
