@Rajesh Pal, I have V3-V4 16s sequence (for gut microbiota) data file of control and experimental groups, I want to do function prediction of microbes present in the gut.
Please go through the publication entitled "Dysbiosis and Variation in Predicted Functions of the Granulation Tissue Microbiome in HPV Positive and Negative Severe Chronic Periodontitis".
1. 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequncing is primarliy aimed for the taxonomic profiling of the metagenomics community.
2. Functional prediction cannot be directly predicted by 16S profiling. However, there are software which can indirectly give indications on the functional profile. But, this kid of functional prediction is just a vague overview which cannot be used to conclude anything with confidence.
@Abhijeet Singh, can you please help me out in generating functional prediction datas?
you can use PICRUSt2 (https://github.com/picrust/picrust2/wiki) or Tax4fun (http://tax4fun.gobics.de/) to predict the functional profiles

Hi, In fact, to analyze 16s metabarcoding is not a complicated thing, I would recommend you to study about the methods that are being used in the literature now, but also, take a look at the qiime2 webpage and its plugins and pipelines, and follow the tutorials.
