I am working with Pseudo-nitzschia sp, and I want to check some DA concentrations dissolved in samples or sea water, but I don't know how much time can the domoic acid be detectable after storage.
Water samples were freezed or cooled (4°) after the sampling time and filteres with a fiber glass filter. some of them are fresh but other ones had like a month in the lab, that is why I want to know the stability time of DA.
I found that it can be detected after a year in some samples, but it seems like a lot of time to me.
So, How much time can be detectable the domoic acid in a water sample? How do you need to store the sample?

It has information about the time of stability of DA: "DA is stable for ninemonths in an aqueous acetonitrile solution at 20°C and for one year in an aqueous solution (pH 5–7) at 4 °C in the dark"
