I am working with Huh7 hepatoma cells. I have to starve the cells for my experimental purposes. If someone would share the experience of cell survival duration without FBS it would be highly appreciated.

There is no precise answer to your question cause cells response to starvation varies a lot. Furthermore, some cells can produce their own growth factors even under starvation( autocrine secretion).
Try different time points for starvation.

It depends on cell type. However you can go upto 36-48 hours in general.
From my experience, it depends on the cell line. Some cell lines could dye even after 24 h without FBS. In your case, you could try gradual adaptation, some people tried it: Article Adaptation to serum-free culture of HEK 293T and Huh7.0 cells
