I know that the prognosis of diffuse type by Lauren classification in stomach cancer is poorer than that of intestinal type. And I guess mixed type cancer might have the prognosis between two types or at least poorer prognosis than pure intestinal type. Is there any solid evidence or recommendable articles about this? any ideas?
Mixed type tumours are variably included within diffuse and intestinal types in a number of studies that hace examined this subject. Intestinal types are further subdivided by location. I think its fair to say that it is currently unclear whether mixed type should sit within either recognised sub-division or whether they are a separate entity in their own right. The natural reaction is to assume the worst and put them with diffuse type tumours. Clinical behaviour and molecular analysis should guode these decisions
