I suggest that you download a free copy of Gomez & Gomez 1989 "Statistical Procedures in Agricultural Research" and follow the instructions on how to carry on the analysis. Unless you have replicate measurements it is impossible because you have no estimates of uncertainty to test the difference

(1) you need to collect both surface and subsurface soil of each field from randomly selected replicated spots/points. If you have only two fields, number of replication/ samples from each field should be more than six for both surface and subsurface soil.

(2) then you have to compute the mean and standard error (SE) values of silicon concentration for surface and subsurface soils of each field (from your replicated values of analyses).

(3) present the silicon concentration of surface and subsurface soils of two different fields as Mean +SE. By this simple way, you will be able to make statistical comparison of the values.

You have to compute the Mean and SE (standard error) values of your replicated soil samples, and present the 'Mean plus and minus SE' values for surface and subsurface soils of two fields for comparison. Number of replication should be more than six, as you have only two fields to compare.
