I need to produce nano emulsion using oil and water combination , for ultrasonic processing of nano emulsions how much intense pulse i have to to get a clear transparent emulsion .
When you mix your oil and aqueous phase one will sit on top of the other. I place the sonication probe 'just' above the interphase and sonicate. Tale care with your amplitude and time, glass vessels can break
The homogeniser is usually less encountered but in any case, you mix your solutions and add them in the homogeniser. By using a pump, your solution will be mixed under intense pressure and speed and this causes your size to get smaller. The more cycles you do the smaller (up to a point where more cycles can actually increase the size, this is trial and error)
To get nano-emulsion use a co-surfactant with surfactant which you are using. Adjusting the HLB value can give you optimize batch conditions. Transparency of emulsion depends on which emulsion you are making i.e. oil in water or water in oil and the method/way addition of two phase into one another.
