I am looking into using a divided field task, and we may need to purchase a chin rest. My question is simple. How do I go about getting one for a reasonable cost? This is a pilot study and we do not need something that costs thousands of dollars. The lab is also unlikely to continue using this kind of equipment once I graduate.
Some key things that would help are: 1) The kinds of keyword searches that I should be using to avoid endless results about violins, 2) What should be some realistic expectations in terms of cost?
Also, to preempt any questions about what type of chin rest we need: If you know of something really cheap, I will make it work. Something that clamps to a table would be ideal but I am flexible on this point.

Something along these lines would not be too difficult to replicate, otherwise you're probably looking at a couple of hundred £ for one. "chin rest research" seems to churn out some fairly specific results.

Thanks for the answer Nik! I am not sure how one would go about making something like that, and that supplier also sells the software for eye tracking, and so likely will be charging quite a bit.
Try keywords "chin and head rest" or a combination with "research", "vision science", "science", "ophthalmology" etc. and you'll not be annoyed with violins.

Hello Kyle, unfortunately I cannot within a short time. Just wanted to say, that you may find a special offer or another retailer with some effort. If not, the head rest is still well-priced.
Update: A local professor has offered to lend us, at no cost, a chin rest that is no longer being used. $0 was precisely the price that I was hoping for :)
Free is always best! If you can't keep it for too long here are some options.
If you want a chin-rest that has a forehead stop and support for the chin, the University of Houston College of Optometry has nice ones. Not cheap. But they last forever:

Another option is to talk to optometrists in the area. They may have something lying around you could use or adapt.
