I am working on rice. I found a difference in leaf between F1 wild type and F1 homozygous plant. However, when I germinate F1 heterozygous, some homozygous plant shows the phenotype in leaf and some are normal as ratio phenotype: normal = 4:5.
Does anyone have sugesstion for me about this case, how can it happen and what should I do next to confirm this phenotype or it is not a real phenotype?

However, if you are crossing the rice genotypes, and have got F1 heterozygous. It can give different phenotypes in F2 (after germination of the F1). This may be because of segregation of alleles.

Hi, Van; If you try your segregation as 7:9 - two factors in a mendelian segregation and if you do a chisquare test it will fit very nice... However, I suspect you already have done that. What is your say?
