for immediately placed implants , to compare the surrounding alveolar bone changes through before and after CBCT scans , how to standardize the views for both scans for accurate measurements
I think using the same imaging parameters for both scans might help.
The first step is recording the CBCT in similar position and with the same machine.
For the CBCT measurement method, it will depend on the location you wish to measure the bone changes. For example, if you are looking to identify the bone changes with regards to maxillary second molar, then using a specific landmark such as maxillary left second molar furcation to align the 3 views of CBCT will be useful. It is important to orient the CBCTs in the same fashion in both before and after scans so that there is no error in the measurements.
