I am synthesizing gold nanoparticles using one pot method, where am using plant as the capping and stabilizing agent. The AuNPs tends to aggregate shortly after synthesis. I have tried working around temperature, pH and varying conc of the plant and yet still dealing with aggregation. Although, I noticed at 4 degree centrigrade, no aggregation is formed but at room temperature the AuNPs aggregates. I have also used two different conc (1 and 100 mM) of gold solution.
You reduce/stop aggregation during synthesis of gold nanoparticles using plant as reducing and stabilizing agent by separating the constituents of plant by column chromatography . then reducing the silver nano-particles.This will prevent aggrigation.
You need to increase the amount of reducing agent / stabilizer. We had the ratio AgNO3 / rutin 1 : 100 mol. See our articles.
I am just wondering how you did realize that the Au NPs start aggregation in your experiments. What tests have you done to check that?If you end with aggregation of the NPs, then the plant you are using may not have high capping or stabilizing effect on the Au NPs or at least its concentration is not right. It is rather curious that you get aggregation of the NPs at higher temperature!
Thanks all. @ Kooti, I have taken the UV mesaurement with SPR of 540nm and DLS of 185.6nm with PDI of 0.502 and ZP of -15.4, but there is presence of sediment at the bottom of the tube and the DLS report indicate presence of aggregation. The concentration of reducing agent used for this parameter is 16 mg/ml, 1mM of gold solution. The ratio of Au solution to plant is (10:1) and the synthesis was performed at 25 degree centigrade.
