Greetings.
I would like to get a help on how I can analyze data collected showing distribution( present- absent).
I am currently doing a research on one Medicinal plant (Zanthoxylum chalybeum) on different land uses specifically Game controlled areas, grazing lands, settlement, farm lands and open areas. I collected my data showing present- absent in each land use encountered and total number of points in each land was counted.In each point where the tree was present was recorded and similar with the point the tree was absent. Thus i want to conduct analysis to show difference in present-absent between land uses categories.

Can use chi-square contingency table; present absent vs land use.
Agreed with Prof. Mohd Tajuddin Abdullah . chi-square test is good enough to analyse presence-absence data.
Chi-square test can be used. Since you have presence-absence data, you can also use software PRESENCE to find out the occupancy probability of the tree in a particular land use category. And then use logistic regression to find out prefered habitat variables (if you collected) leading to the selection of a particular land use category.
Hi, you can use chi square, but you can do similarity analysis.
