How can I re-mesh lines in ANSYS APDL without having to click all the mesh in my model (attached below)?
Is there an option where I could clear only the lines meshing without clearing the mesh of the other elements?
Thanks.
Dear Zeinah,
Your're in 2 or 3D modelisation FEA?

Just select only lines and issue an Lmesh command, after setting the element type and section type.
Normally you have to clear the elements before assigning new size or divisions of lines. Using commands in APDL, this is done by only 2/3-line code.
Alternatively, you can 'refine' the mesh in selected entities. see http://mae.uta.edu/~lawrence/ansys/h_refine/h_refine.htm

For modeling bridge deck slab on ANSYS APDL, why is shell element preferred over solid element? I read somewhere that the mesh of shell elements is more efficient than solid elements. Why is that?
