It depends. how much do you need? and how exactly has it to be 0,2%? if you dont want to add the acetic acid directly make it stepwise: mix one part of glacial acetic acid with 4 parts of water. homogenize. mix one part of that with 9 parts of water. homogenize. again mix one part of that with 9 parts of water and homogenize again. there you have your 0,2%. and if you need it for cell culture dont forget to filtrate or autoclave it.
Yahya Saber E. Mansour I have prepared a few 0.2% acetic acid. The basic formula is 1 part of acetic acid and 499 part of water. For example, if i want to prepare 100 mL of 0.2% acetic acid , I would dissolve 0.2 mL of glacial acetic acid into 99.8 mL of water. Similarly, if i want to prepare 500 mL of 0.2% acetic acid, I would dissolve 1 mL of glacial acetic acid into 499 mL of water.
0.2% (v/v) may possibly either refer to volumetric percentage concentration, i.e. volume of glacial acetic acid : volume of solution (x100% v/v); or to percentage formulation ratio, meaning, volume of glacial acetic acid : volume of water (x100% v/v).
Note that concentrations are typically given in a solute to solution basis; not in a solute to solvent basis. A rare exception is molality (mol solute / kg solvent).
