Within the scope of my Ph.D. thesis, I want to determine the thermal distribution, melt pool, and melting/solidification processes in the relevant region by melting metal surfaces with a laser using FEA methods. But I am very new to CFD analysis. Where should I start? How should I go about it?
The temperature distribution can be obtained by thermal analysis module of ANSYS and the moving laser source can be modelled as Gaussian heat source.
