It will be great if someone helps me with the protocol to treat cell lines with Ceramide and Ceramide-1-phosphate. I heard BSA and liposome-mediated delivery, looking for the protocol following these two methods to use in my study and to check which one works for me.
I haven't done this, but Richard E. Pagano published in the early to mid-90s about how to do this.
ceramides have chain length. If you want to treat C2~C12-ceramides, these are all cell permeable. But, more than C14-ceramides are not cell-permeable. I treated C16-C24-ceramides with digitonin. Digitonin generates small holes into cell membranes, which can help to put into ceramides.
CD36, FFAs Transported are also participate for transfer of Free fatty acid from extracellular compartment in to intracellular compartment of normal cell as well as cancer cell.
