As a result of a randomized clinical trial with Tdap ( acellular Pertussis vaccine ) in pregnant women we got results finally using a commercial kit to measure antibodies against pertectina and pertussis toxin, but we obtained results in optical density units and most of the literature shows Elisa International Units to measure antibodies (E/UI). I think we need to convert them , ? Is there any easy way to do it??? Any software you know?
Usually Commercial kits have a mathematical formula to convert OD values into IU/mL. If not you can use the WHO first reference serum 06/140, which you can obtain from NIBSC, UK. Use the referensserum in 8 dilution steps so you get a standard curve. Then you can relate your OD-values from the samples to the standard curve.
The easiest way is to convert your data using (Standard curve) by your standard concentration. The best program for this purpose is Graphpad prism.
