Since I am working for the first time with Ion chromatography, I am bit confused.
Now, I have different coal samples, I need to analysis the residual of it after combustion in Bomb Calorimeter.
The point is I should calibrate the IC by a stock solution and it should contain the substances/anions to be determined in approximately the same concentrations in which they can be expected in the sample, " Which I don't know or it's concentration"
How can i do a stock solution while I don't have the range of the targetted concentration?

many thanks for your question.
As you don't know the concentration of the unknown samples, a good strategy is to start with a "rough" calibration covering a larger concentration range. Then run a few samples to better estimate the to be calibrated concentration range, and adapt the calibration.
Working with a calorimeter bomb it is easiest to work with external standard solutions, containing the anions (?) of interest. The validation of your method should include recovery studies. For those, you should add components containing the elements of interest before the combustion. In earlier studies, we found that for example halo-benzoic acids (Cl-, Br-, I-), as the components in the attached document (vide infra), can serve that purpose. Of course, you will have to check the overall method performance including sample preparation and ion chromatography, and those standards are perfect as well.
In my literature dungeons, I excavated an old article, which might prove helpful to you. Please see attached. IC-column chemistry is much better nowadays, and instrument hardware, as well as software, are eons apart from what you find in the paper. But the general approach, the operation, and evaluation could guide you through your work.
