I am simulating single point incremental forming and intend to get the profile "truncated-cone" on sheetmetal. How do i define the tool-path for this?
For profiles like truncated-pyramid, when tool has to move only in straight direction i can use displacement / rotation.
In the attached picture, Left: truncated cone. Right: truncated pyramid.
You may want to look about analytical rigid part in the abaqus manual.

@antonio yes i did. Actually this creates a circular path on model and results can be obtained along that path. its a post-processing option.

@laxmikant No. I did not. I tried using CATIA to define the tool-path and exporting the file to abaqus somehow but the operation was not worth the time. I found a research paper in science direct which gives the theory about this using MATLAB. You can look into it.
ABAQUS/CAE has no such function to define a tool path. You need to write your own code. If it is for just one rotation then it is possible. If it is the tool-path as shown in figure then you need to do some calculations
beside Matlab you can even use disp or vdisp subroutine to define tool path.
