Encapsulating peritonitis (otherwise known as sclerosing peritonitis) is a rare but often devastating consequence of solid organ transplantation. There has been a slow evolution in the knowledge of how to try and modulate the ongoing inflammatory response within the abdomen by the use of certain immunosuppressive agents and/or Tamoxifen. Has anyone had success with either mTOR inhibitors or Tamoxifen in these cases?

I have not used these agents as treatment. I have operated on several to lyse adhesions and I been able to restore function. I have also done intestine transplant when surgery failed. This is a very difficult problem. I hope that you find an answer.
