Hello everyone. I am studying the relationship between the gender wage gap and the region, type of industry and the size of the company in a dataset of 7200 UK companies. My dependent variable is the gender wage gap expressed in percentage for each company, so a continuous variable. My independent variables are three categorical variables: two nominal and one ordinal. Nominal variable1 is industry type and each industry is represented by a code from 1 to 20. Nominal variable2 is region and each region is represented by a code from 1 to 11. The 3rd variable which is ordinal, is the size of the company, represented by codes from 1 to 6. How to execute the regression on Stata? Should I perform any previous comand before 'regres'? Should I put 'i.' before all the independent variables? Someone can help me with the exact steps? Thank you in advance for your time.
You definitely will want to add the "i." before each independent variables.
Try something like this after substituting the exact variable names in for {yvar, var1, var2, var3}.
