I have used both ki67 and cyclin D1 in my research work and published papers that are already mentioned above ( by Patrick)
Mr. Tapan and Mr. Patrick already suggested key proliferation marker such as Ki67, MCM-2, Cyclin D1. I will suggest you can check for ALDH gene expression, its has role in cell growth and its down regulation is highly implicated in cancer.

We have used Cyclin D1, c-Myc and AurK-A as a proliferation marker in our paper.
I used Ki-67 as total proliferation marker and also used cell cycle proteins like cyclinD1,cyclinE2,cyclinB1,p-wee1, Myt1, p21, p-cdc2 to show cell proliferation in my paper.
