Hello everyone, does anyone know if it is possible to model reinforcement overlap (lap splices in Concrete beam) in ANSYS?

As far as i know if we connect to bars with lap length ANSYS consider it as a continuous reinforcing element, so if we connect to bars from end to start at the middle of the beam, the beam will not fail in bending but in reality the beam will fail, do you have any idea about this?

First of all may I know how u modelled reinforcement embedded in concrete? Did u use Mechanical APDL or Workbench interface?
