I am conducting an exploratory study following a mixed-method approach. The population I am working with is small (20 to 30 people). What sampling method would you recommend to make the best out of this population?
If you don't have the opportunity to do a complete census, then you could use a "purposive" (also know as purposeful) sample that uses well-specific criteria for the selection of your participants.
The population is small for any meaningful quantitative analysis to be done. Unless you want to condut descriptive stats with the quant component of the study. Purposive sampling is always desired for qualitative research. So it depends on your research objectivess.
