Heat Inactivation of Bacteria without Damaging Peptides in the Sup?

I need to obtain cell-free filtered medium, but I don't have filters. So, I decided to heat inactivate the lactobacilli at 56C for 30 min hoping that any petides they might be releasing in the sup will not be damaged. Has anyone tried this?
