I somehow navigated to EZbiosystems website (http://ezbiosystems.com/about%20us%20view.asp?d_id=2) and they have a huge variety of transfection reagents optimized for different cell lines. Any experiences, do they work better as compared to "traditional" ones in your hands?
We tried using the Avalanche reagent that was optimized for fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS). While I don't recall the exact details at this moment, we were pretty disappointed with the results and did not continue using it.
What kinds of cells you need to transfect? If you were just transfecting cells like 293, you can buy the dirt cheap brached PEI from sigma and you could have like 80% of the cells transfected. If you were transfecting some difficult to transfect cells or primary cells, it is another story.
But well, if you do have time and you could ask the company for samples and try it out.
