We've tried a few protocols on our autostainer, but haven't had got anything working yet. I have heard rumors of people getting it to stain rat tissue . I specifically want to stain vascular endothelium
I've used anti-CD34/Qbend10 in IHC (many years ago) and it worked well on human placenta. Some of these antibodies don't work in different species. ThermoScientific (Fisher) do one which has been used for staining rat tissue. The cat # is MA1-10202.
Not used this one myself, but it seems promising and retails at £130 per 100ug in the UK.
Try doing it manually (you can never trust those pesky robots. (Only joking!)
Dear Danie, Some time ago I had a student who needed to stain rat pancreas vasculature. We used RECA-1 antibody. It's species immunoreactivity is rat, no other species mentioned. It worked very well on formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded (FFPE) rat pancreas, but works also on fixed and unfixed frozen tissues (I have used 4%PFA in PBS). I have checked that it is available from abcam. Good luck with your experiments.
