There are many methods like Protein Micro array, Yeast Two Hybrid system, Protomap, Affinity Chromatography, Specially Designed ELISA etc. which can be used for study of proteome !
Thank u.But i guess i should specify more. i want to study the total proteome of a tissue sample at one time and methods like ELISA and affinity chromatography requires analysis of one protein at a time.
Karishma I think it depends what you want study in the proteome. For example if you like to check the interactome then you can go for yest two hybid or Pull down/IP followed by Mass Spectrometry, If you like to study the modulation (up regulation/down regulation) of proteins then you can go for Protein array or SILAC based proteomics...I hope u understand my point.
Goutam Sir , I got your point but I dint want to study protein -2 interaction.. I dont exactly remember in which context I asked this question(Its 2 years back :)).. But what I remember I was studying differential expression 7-8 proteins during different stages of development and I could make out there were 7 proteins (as per the spots I obtained) but identity of each protein was the doubt.. and I dint have microarray for that because the protein identity was not known..
OK Karishma I think for your case iTRAQ will be the best solution....It actually a LCMS based technique and will identify as well as quantify different proteins together.
