Is anybody using one shot Omnimax 2-T1 chemically competent E. coli to transform BP reaction products marketed by invitrogen? I have tried those cells and it seems that it's not working at all. Even in positive control with PUC 19. But when I tried with NEB 5 alpha cells it is giving numerous colonies in the plate. Can anybody suggest what is the actual problem?
Hm I don´t know, I worked with the cells several times and they always preformed well. Just contact Invitrogen perhaps they send you a new package if you explain them your problem and that you did the same reaction with other competent cells and it worked. It´s my only suggestion, perhaps you received a bad charge.
I have transformed these cells, too, and they worked well. Maybe you could try with a new stock of cells.
Perhaps they are not competent any more. Transport conditions, temperature range or etc ........... Other option is try to make your own stock of cells from 2-T1.
@Jonathan, well the same shipment contained BP & LR clonase enzymes which has worked perfectly in my experiment. thats why i became sceptical about those competent cells.
