I want to precipitate my S.aureus bacteria cells but I couldn't find a reliable protocol to precipitate, obtain high number of bacteria. Can you give me a protocol to precipitate bacterial cells?
Phil Geis thanks but I need a protocol it is not just a simple centrifugation, earlier, I try to precipitate my cells according to a protocol but I couldn't reach my desired cell number. that's why I want more precise protocol
I didn't say centrifugation doesn't work, i want to obtain 10^10 cells and want to know a protocol to obtain this much cell
Centrifugation is the simplest and most reliable way to collect cells from liquid growth medium. But if you want to get 10e10 cells then you need to start with sufficient volume to have that number of cells. I think Staph does not grow to a very high density (if my memory is correct) in which case you need to both optimize growth conditions and begin with a larger volume.
