Hi,
I routinely use AKTA connected to Fraction Collector-920 for collecting proteins while doing protein purification. However, recently I have started seeing some errors on our Fraction Collector. While collecting proteins, the collector collects protein in the first two tubes and then skips a bunch of tubes and gives an error, that last tube has passed and the instrument pauses. If I continue the run, it keeps on repeating the same thing.
To troubleshoot this, I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting fraction collector and switching off and on the instrument. I have also tried using different methods on UNICORN software but the fraction collector keeps on giving the same error.
I am not able to decide whether it's a mechanical issue with the arm of the collector or an electronic issue.
If you have encountered this issue, please let me know how to fix it.

Prakriti Kalra, It might be an error with the sensor of the fraction collector. You can try cleaning it and test if anything changes.
Natália Bernardes Hello, thanks for your suggestion. I contacted GE and they have told me it's either the tube sensor or the drive sleeve. I am looking into this. Thanks!
Just fixed this, you can order a replacement tube sensor and easily replace the component. Note: just the tube sensor is needed, no need to buy an entire new arm.
