If you enter GeneCards.org website with your searching eukaryotic gene or protein name, you will find genomic sequence knowledge as well as promoter region and other useful things. I added an example about MAOA gene.

I don't know if Matlab's Bioinformatics tool has this type knowledge but maybe.

There are several databases of promoters databases, including EPD: Eukaryotic Promoter Database (epd.vital-it.ch/) from which you can extract promoter sequences related to some eukaryotic species. To serach for consus sequences or motifs you can use MEME, to predict over-represented motifs within your promoter sequences. I hope that my answer can help you.
