In Petrel, I have a time domain model that has an Interval Velocity property that I want to use to domain convert 2D seismic lines.
I need this property to be a separate velocity model for the domain conversion application to work.
I do not know how to make this happen.
[too short/need more info: Seismic stacking velocities provided at intervals along the seismic lines were converted to Dix interval velocity “pseudo-well” logs and interpolated into the 3D framework via kriging. This created an inteval velocity property in the Time Domain Simple Grid model that is in m/s. Since this is essentially a velocity model I can use it to domain convert the seismic lines, but Petrel needs it as a separate velocity model object and this is where I am stuck. I converted it to a seismic cube, but I dont think this is the correct course of action.]
You have to make a velocity model by uscaling your vel propety. so a first you have to make a geol grid, upscale your property and model the distribution via given algorithims...
then you can use this vel model for converting the 2d lines

If you have a set of 2D seismic lines, therefore you must have each individual migration stack and each individual migration velocities, e.g., intervalo velocities.
You do not need a velocity volumen. The best way is convert each individual TWT seismic line from time to depth domain using the individual migration velocities. Do not mix in a single volume of velocities due the distorsion in velocity-field migration of diferent directions or azimuths.
Let me ask you, please: Why do you need to work in depth?
It is a new "source" or problem that you add in 2D seismic interpretation, maybe generating a more pitfalls than solutions.
